It's morning and a Krispy Kreme doughnut would be really good right now--but it's not going to happen:(
In the last post I mentioned the amount of substitute teaching I had been doing and that I thought I would cut back--well, that didn't happen. In fact, I have averaged three jobs a week ever since. I am now counting the days until the end of the year like I did when I was teaching full-time. I am working half a day today, and then two more days this week. I blame that for the reason I don't get everything done I want to do--like my taxes which are due this Saturday (woohoo! I just looked on the internet and have until the 17th!).
April 5 we took off with Sandra and headed south. First stop was a night in St. George with Chad and Peachy and then we drove to Sedona, Arizona. For some reason, I have been pulled to visit Sedona. It was a quaint town with horrible traffic and crowds of people. The drive there is gorgeous and there is abundant scenery to look at, but we were a little rushed trying to make a tee time at Oakcreek Country Club. Turns out we all forgot about the time change once we got in AZ, so we were over an hour early to our tee time.
Warming up on the putting green.
This stream is near the clubhouse.

After a round of golf, we took the freeway back to Flagstaff to avoid the congestion in Sedona. Had a nice dinner at Red Lobster and stayed the night. The next day we were off to a 9-hole course called Coyote Trails. It was out of the way, but a well kept and fun course. At one point, in order to get to the next tee box, you had to drive through a residential trailer park. This cactus was blooming in someone's yard. I don't know why I didn't take more pictures of the course. After this round of golf, we ventured back to Sedona and were able to find a parking space. That seemed like a sign to go investigate the town a little. We ate at a Mexican restaurant and walked around and bought some souvenirs. We stayed again in Flagstaff and the next day headed to Page for a round of golf.
Scenes from downtown Sedona.
Below is the golf course in Page. I am on the clubhouse balcony looking over the 18th hole and toward the bridge. We stopped at the bridge to look at the dam.
The picture above is looking back toward the golf course.
Once we were back in St. George, I spent a little time shopping with Peachy and getting a pedicure. We took them to dinner at Olive Garden and were able to visit with Ted and Doug. We drove home on Saturday and made a few stops on the way home in Provo.
Other things of note:
**We are both fully vaccinated now. In my mind that is reason enough to stop wearing a mask all the time.
**I procured us an Airbnb apartment for the months of January and February in 2021. It looks like a very nice apartment and has an open courtyard with shops and restaurants. It is two miles from the beach with a golf course in between. We are very excited to go and try it out. It is located in Palm Coast, Florida.**I made the red plaid quilt for Josh Pearson for his graduation from I.S.U. Quinn and I went to Stacey's house for a celebration and were able to visit with Kim and Bev and Kara and Terry. It was good to see family and all of Stacey's kids. The plaid fabric came from mom's stash, so I thought Josh would like having it.
**This is a pillowcase I made for Annie Kaminska for her baptism which ended up getting postponed because some of the family came down with COVID.
**I made these Easter bunny treat bags for my ministering sisters and the Hales and Keslers.
**I was asked to make these 10 masks by the stake and I think they are for the employees at Deseret Industries.

**Sydnee Kaminska has become my penpal and she sent me some packages of her artwork and crafts. I made her a turtle 'I Spy' bag and Tina sent this picture showing me she does like it.
**Had another cousin's dinner to plan the next Capson Family Reunion. We were lucky enough to have my cousin Darla visiting from California and she came and brought her granddaughter with her. I haven't seen her in years--maybe at grandma's funeral? She is directly in the middle and her granddaughter has the long blonde hair.
**I did get a puzzle done.
**Jacob knitted this scarf for me. It is beautiful and Quinn helped me with the selfie.
**This picture was taken on April Fool's Day when the twins switched places at school. They had almost everyone confused. One teacher was suspicious and one teacher didn't seem to notice. I was impressed with their chutzpah for even attempting it.
**I had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday. Quinn and I did our Cinco de Mayo dinner and I got to spend time with my grandkids (Kash was with his mom). I got to talk to Jacob and Amber and Chad and Peachy. I got this lunchbox from the Stoddarts and it features the Nautilus on two sides. They found it at a yard sale in Thayne, Wyoming. They went up to the cabin to install a Ring doorbell. In fact, they had driven past the sale when Beau turned back around to go investigate and they found this treasure. What are the chances?
**The following meme refers to an incident that happened across the world--a barge got stuck in the Suez Canal and caused a traffic jam for days. The picture is a little blurry, but it is a space shot of the barge.
